Outcome 5 (Document Work MLA) – Document their work using appropriate conventions (MLA)
Paper 1 – The only real issues my MLA formatting had in my first paper was that I included an extra space between each source when there should not have been one.
Paper 2 – The only marked issue with my MLA formatting in this paper was my heading over the Works Cited. I titled it as “references” instead of “Works Cited”.
As stated in the first and second learning outcome pages, I have spent a large portion of time in my previous years of education learning about how to properly cite sources and introduce the to the reader while making it all feel natural. I think that in each of my papers, I have used my quotes well and introduced them quite smoothly for the reader to understand and absorb at their own pace. I typically have a short introduction to the author of the quote starting in the introduction of the paper to let the reader know that they will be mentioned again at some point, so that they do not feel as though the source appeared out of no where. Then I will provide a better backstory to the author at the beginning of the paragraph that I will be using their quote the most heavily in. Finally once the sentence appears for me to release the words of another I make sure that it fits into my own word structure that flows into the original author’s own voice so that the reader can see the similarity in my thoughts and the sources even more clearly.
